I just read the roll call of a vote on an amendment by Rep Bob Beauprez of Colorado to an appropriations bill two days ago that would cut off foreign aid money to countries that do not extradite cop killers(think Mexico). It passed 327 to 98. Of course the usual suspects voted no, the Sanchez sisters, Maxine Waters, Nancy Pelosi, Diane Watson, Xavier Becerra, Jane Harman, etc. I give credit where it is due to Joe Baca for voting for this. I guess he got the message. Guess which California Republicans voted against it? Bill Thomas and none other than our friend, the chairman of the Rules Comittee, a one Mr. David Dreier. I want Rep. Dreier to tell the parents and widow of Deputy David March to their face why he voted against this amendment. It's outrageous. Am I talking to myself here? Is anyone else here as pissed off about this as I am? What the hell is he thinking? Who is he representing? Obviously not the people that are seeking justice. It looks like Dreier didn't learn a damn thing from the last election.
News About Navy SEAL Team is Grim
It turns out that all aboard were killed in the copter crash in Afganistan the other day. There was an entire squad of SEAL team members(eight) on the helo. This is so sad. In reading Froggy Rumination's blog today, this is the worst SEAL loss of life in the history of the teams. My heart goes out to all the friends and family members of the guys that died.
RIP LA County Sheriff Deputy Jerry Ortiz
Another peace officer has been gunned down in cold blood. His name is Los Angeles county Sheriff deputy Jerry Ortiz. Officer Ortiz was knocking on doors down in the city of Hawaiian Gardens looking for gang members and he was shot point blank range in the head by gang member Jose Luis Orozco. They caught him a few doors down from where the shooting took place. At least he didn't get a chance to flee to Mexico. I guess we can be thankful for that. This is just another example of how hard the job that police officers have. They truely love what they're doing because they certainly aren't in it for the money. These guys are constantly getting shot at. My hat is off to all the police officers around the country.
Welcome To My Blog
I had alot of new hits yesterday after speaking with Hugh Hewitt yesterday. Hugh inspired me to start my own blog over a year ago. I used to call into his show all the time when he was on KFI. I have listened to him off and on for over ten years now. It's funny because we are neighbors in here Irvine and I see him jogging around the neighborhood every so often. Props to you Hugh for having a great talk show. I usually split my time listening to Hugh part of the time and then switching to John & Ken to see what they're talking about. I guess it just depends what kind of mood that i'm in. If i'm in a mellow kind of mood or there is breaking political news then I would say I listen to Hugh's intelligent political talk as he calls it more often. If I need that dose of adreneline or a good laugh then I'll turn on John & Ken and continue with Phil Hendrie during the evening. I usually end the day falling asleep listening to Coast to Coast with Art Bell/George Noory. Those guys are hilarious with all their supernatural/alien talk.

China's Bid For Unocal
Let's get one thing straight here. CNOOC's bid of $18.5 billion for Unocal is a brazen attempt by the Communist Chinese government to get at our energy reserves. The SEC should shoot this idea down cold turkey. This deal doesn't pass the smell test. It is also adverse for our national security. We are going to need all the oil we can in the coming years. China needs to develop its own resources without our help.

Let's Try An Experiment....Who Wants To Play
I received this email today from my Uncle, Mark Nelson up in nocal today. He gets this issue as well as millions of other American citizens. Try this down in Mexico and see what happens.
- Enter Mexico illegally. Ignore immigration quotas, visas, international law, and all that nonsense.
- - Once there, demand that the local government provide free medical care for you and your entire family.
- - Demand that the federal government provide retirement benefits for your elderly parents.
- - Procreate abundantly.
- - Demand that the Mexican school system provide schooling for all your children.
- - Speak only English at home and in public and insist that your children do the same.
- - Demand classes on American culture in the Mexican school system.
- - Demand bilingual nurses and doctors.
- - Demand free bilingual local government forms, bulletins, etc.
- - Deflect any criticism of this irresponsible behavior with, "It is a cultural United States thing. You would not understand."
- - Keep your American identity strong. Fly Old Glory from your rooftop; proudly display it in your front window and on your car bumper.
- - Demand a local Mexican driver's license.
- - Use your Mexican driver's license to apply for other legal rights and to legitimize your illegal presence in Mexico.
- - Demand that the Mexican driver's license be acceptable documentation for voter's registration.
- - Insist that local Mexican law enforcement teach English to all its officers.
- - Insist that you should not have to pay taxes, because you are not a Mexican citizen and are only there "temporarily."
Good luck! You'll be demanding for the rest of time or soon be dead. It will never happen. It will not happen in Mexico or any other country in the world. The only place such things happen is right here... in the land of the liberal and the home of the naive

Supreme Court Nomination Battle In The Digital Age
I was thinking about all the Supreme Court news lately about who will retire and who will be nominated and it dawned on me that the next nomination will be the first one fought in the digital/blogger age. No longer will you have the Nina Totenbergs/MSM controlling the news cycle about the nomination process. I can tell from reading all the various political blogs that we are all ready for battle when the moment is at hand. I think Karl Rove and the White House realized this and they have all their research done on potential nominees and they are just waiting to put their game plan into action. I know this, if the President keeps his word and nominates a true conservative/strict constitutional constructionist, there will be no problems from the base. We will do everything in our power to muscle the nominee through over the democrats objections. If that means the precious little Senate deal on judges comes unraveled, then all the better. Anyway I think this upcoming battle is going to set a precedence for future SCOTUS battles. It will be fun to watch the liberals bitch when Bush announces Michael Luttig or John Roberts as his next nominee.

Marine Sniper Gets Silver Star
I love reading about stories like this. Marine Sniper John Ethan Place received the Silver Star yesterday down at Camp Pendleton. He had 32 confirmed kills last year in the battle for Fallouja during a two week period. Nothing strikes more fear in the enemy than knowing that Marine snipers are in position ready to end your life at any given moment. These guys are worth their weight in gold on the battlefield. Here's a quote from Place's commander, "Maj. Gen. Richard F. Natonski, commander of the 1st Marine Division, said Place has earned a spot among the Marine Corps' top heroes, including the legendary sniper from Vietnam, Gunnery Sgt. Carlos Hathcock". Now that is saying something. These guys are America's finest.

Tom Cruise Lectures Matt Lauer on Scientology
Okay I'll say a nice thing about Tom Cruise. I liked some of his movies. I think he is a good actor, but for the love of god, please don't lecture us about your freaky "religion" as you call it. He is such a snob it is amazing. They starting mixing it up pretty good when Tom brought up Brooke Shields post partum depression and the fact that she was taking anti-depressants, apparenty a no no in the Scientology world. You just have to read the whole transcript. It is disturbing. Here is the link

Another Horrible Supreme Court Decision
You can trace these bad decisions all the way back to Robert Bork getting "Borked" by the Senate Democrats back in 1987. Along came Anthony Kennedy and the rest they say is history. There have been so many 5-4 votes where Kennedy has been the swing justice on these horrendous decisions. So now the Supremes say that its okay for the government to take your property in direct violation of the 5th Amendment. The court has effectively repealed the 5th Amendment with this decision. Do we need anymore evidence that the next few appointments to the court are vitally important to have strong conservatives picks? I think not. Here is the link

Nice Try Mainstream Media(Wash. Post)
Link to the story here. I like how they try to frame the story as "democrats were robbed" or something. You guys know what the problems were for you in Ohio? It was real simple. John Kerry didn't get more votes than President Bush. Try getting more of your voters to the polls than the other guy. That's the whole object of an election. How do you like them apples?

Dick Durbin Finally Apologizes
Here's the link to the story. The real story though is that he still really thinks that our soldiers are Nazis, but the heat just got too hot for him when Da Mayor, Mr Daley, called his remarks a disgrace today. Face it Dick, you are Mayor Daley's bitch and don't you forget it. Mayor Daley just happens to have a son in the Army and I'm guessing Durbin the Turban's remarks weren't received very well. That was the last straw for tricky Dick. So with crocadile tears flowing and reporters in tow, he finally apologized for his disgraceful remarks last week. I hope he rots in hell for comparing our brave soldiers to Nazis. I also hope the voters of Illinois will send him to the unemployment line the next time he is up for re-election(2008).

Tom Cruise Tortured With Water Gun
It looks like Tom Cruise might a little help from Dick Durbin after a prankster zinged Tom with water from a fake microphone in France over the weekend. I'm waiting for Dick Durbin to call for a ban on fake microphone water guns because that is torture according to Dick Turban errr Durbin.

Here's A Shocker: Americans And French Hate Each Other
I saw this article on Drudge today and felt I should chime in with my two cents. Only 35% of Americans like the French and only 31% of French like Americans. I have one question...why is the American number so high? I mean we have saved their ass time and time again throughout history and they have nothing but contempt for us Americans. This poll does not not shock me, but I do think the US should be re-evaluating its relationship with France. We'll see who comes to the rescue when their ass is on the line again. I hope it is not the US that helps. I leave everyone with my favorite France joke of all time IMO. Why are streets of Paris lined with trees? Answer...because the Germans like to march in the shade.

Irvine Political Update
It's time for a little Irvine political update. As long as Larry Agran and his cronies are in power, Irvine residents & property owners will need to watch their wallet. The city council passed a budget in the dead of night during the last meeting. By the way, for all you non-Irvine citizens, this is the way all important/controversial business gets done when Larry is in power. It always has and will always be the preferred way. No one is up anymore to watch or stay until the end of the meeting. What else....hmmm, oh yeah Dick Sims resigned his seat on the Great Park Board because he thought that plans for the park were moving ahead too fast. When someone with his stature steps aside, that is a pretty damning indictment of Larry and his buddies. Luckily for the city we have two great council members to keep a watchful eye on things in Christina Shea and Dr. Steven Choi. The Irvine Republican Council has been formed to keep Irvine voters informed of what's going on in the city. No longer will your lapdog Ed Dornan be able to place the Earl Zuchts of the world on the ballot with the sole purpose to steal away our base voters to hand the election over to the bad guys... Larry Agran & Co. Please make no mistake about it either. These are not non-partisan races like the ballot says. It is a battle of two starkly different ideologies at play. GOP vs Democrats, conservatives vs liberals, good government vs bad government are all at work here. So Larry just because you have your picture taken with George W Bush and Arnold Schwarzennegar because you are trying to pretend that W and Arnold endorse you, that doesn't mean you will be getting over anymore on Irvine's electorate. You're on notice that Irvine is not going to put up with your shananegins anymore.

Sen. Campbell Just On John & Ken
Hey everyone, I'm back from weekend down south of the border at Bahia de Los Angeles, Baja California Norte, not to be confused with Los Angeles,CA illegal alien capital of the world. John Campbell is still talking with the boys as I'm posting, but I have a few initial thoughts. Right out of the box Sen. Campbell starting talking about how he will be tough on illegal immigration. Obviously he has done his homework on what John & Ken listeners care most about. He said that during his stint in the family auto business, he always verified work documents of his workers and when something didn't seem right, he would report it to the authorities. The proper authorities basically didn't give a damn about his complaints and didn't do anything about it. He gets points for that answer. He needs to be out in front on this issue when he gets to DC. The county, state, and country needs another advocate for this most important issue. He also got asked why people should keep Republicans in power when the budget deficit is as high as it's been. He really didn't have a good answer for this question which troubles me. Why should we keep the GOP in power if they don't do what they say they are going to do. On to redistricting now it looks like. He gave a good answer why Arnold's redistricting reform is important. Overall I thought the prospective interview went pretty well. Now that Sen Ackerman and John Lewis have dropped out of the race, it looks like Sen. Campbell has a pretty clear shot at winning the seat. Marilyn Brewer should just drop out now. She would just be wasting her money at this point it would seem. We don't need any RINO's representing this important district in Congress. I still wonder if Jim Gilchrist is thinking about running?

New Tack Against Illegal Immigrants: Trespassing Charges
This article gives me hope. It looks like some police chiefs are getting fed up with Illegal immigration in New Hampshire and they are charging them with trespassing. This is a brilliant move. It reminds me of one of the last scenes in the movie "The Firm" when Tom Cruise gave the feds info on his lawfirm over-billing clients and mailing the invoice(mailfraud....a federal offense)when the firm is breaking all kinds of other laws(murder, bribery, assaults, battery, etc). Here you have the same thing going on with illegal immigration. Illegal aliens are breaking numerous laws to come here to this counrty and then they're breaking numerous other laws to stay here. So the local cops finally get fed up and follow the law and bust the illegal aliens for trespassing. I love it. I also like the idea that came up a few months ago of DUI checkpoints up in Oakland,CA nabbing illegals because most of them are driving without licenses. They are breaking the law by trespassing. So lets prosecute em' and then deport em'.
Race For 48th Getting Logjammed
It looks like Sen Campbell is rethinking his plans. He announced that he has withdrawn his endorsement of Dick Ackerman and is thinking about running himself. Is this payback for Dick not endorsing him for Senate GOP leader? No one knows yet. I suspect it is. Hey who said you have to be nice all the time in politics. It is afterall a contact sport here in the OC when an open seat becomes available. Just look at recent history for a guide. Ken Maddox sent out a mailing with hookers & pimps on them implying that Sen Campbell endorsed that sort of nonsense. Cristy Christich did the similiar things against Chuck Devore. Thankfully the voters saw through this BS and voted in the best persons for the jobs.
It also looks like Jim Gilcrest is seriously thinking of getting in. This is awesome news. He is absolutely my sentimental favorite. I would have hard time choosing between Sen. Campbell or Jim Gilcrest. Hopefully one of them will not run and I won't have to make that decision.
Isn't all this stuff great for us political junkies. It's like Christmas in June.

Janice Rogers Brown Confirmed
I just watched the vote on C-SPAN on the net. The vote was 56 to 43. I am so happy for the DC Circuit. JRB will be a force to be reckoned with in the future. She also is probably on the short list for a Supreme Court vacancy also.

My Brush With An Uninsured/Unlicensed/Illegal Alien Driver
This story begins with me and my wife driving up to the local mountains to go camping with some friends a few weeks ago. We left on a Friday afternoon so I knew that taking the 91 freeway was out of the question. So I decided to head over the Ortega Highway and take 74 all the way up to Idyllwild. As I was driving through the city of Perris, a green pickup truck swerved out of the left hand turn lane and into my rear bumper. I could immediately hear my bumper dragging behind me. I was furious! I looked over to see the guy that did it and once I made eye contact with him, I was sure he was going to gun it and leave the scene. Luckily(I think) for me, his girlfriend was in the car with him and he pulled over so we could exchange information. I get out of my car and the first thing out of the woman's mouth was "oh shit I don't have any insurance"...strike one. Next I find out the driver doesn't habla englise. The next strike came when she said that her boyfriend doesn't have a drivers license....strike two. What else your thinking to yourselves...oh there's alot more. Next she tells me that he is here illegally after my prodding....oh boy. Anyway, to make a long story short, please make sure that you and everyone you know get uninsured motorist coverage from your auto insurer. Since it was not my fault and my insurer was able to verify that the woman that hit me was not insured, they paid for my entire bill to fix my car, sans even the deductable. Not one dime came out of my pocket. Thank you GEICO. Now GEICO goes after the person that hit me. They said she'll have major problems getting her car registered again. GOOD. The moral of the story....don't drive without a license and insurance, oh and try to follow the laws of the this country when come here from a foreign land.

The Bloodbath Has Begun In The 48th District
I just got push-polled by a company called Western Research out of Salt Lake City. It was obvious a woman named Cassie De Young paid for the poll. Anyone ever hear of this person? I tried googling her name and nothing came up so she can't be that serious a candidate can she? The questions were pretty basic at the beginning. First They asked for my impression, positive, neutral or negative of a number of potential candidates. I will try to list them all here as I responded. Larry Agran-negative, Pat Bates-neutral, B-1 Bob Dornan-positive, James Rogan-positive, Dick Ackerrman-positive, Cassie De Young-neutral, John Lewis-positive, Mark Chapin Johnson-negative, Marilyn Brewer-negative, Todd Spitzer-neutral, Mimi Walters-neutral. Then they asked if I knew that Dick Ackermann and Marilyn Brewer are supported by a bunch of pro El Toro airport politicians and that Cassie De Young has always been opposed to the El Toro airport. Overall I thought it was pretty hilarious. I guess the games have begun. Who the hell is Cassie De Young anyways???
****Update*****
The answer to the question, who is Cathryn "aka Cassie DeYoung"....she is the mayor pro tem of Laguna Niguel. Well alrighty then. Looks like at least she is a republican. After looking at FEC reports, she has given to Chris Cox, Darrel Issa, and the NRCC. I still like Dick Ackerrman though if Jim Gilchrest doesn't run.
****Another Update*****
OCMetalMan on OC Blog is reporting that former state senator of Orange, John Lewis has just dumped a cool mill in his campaign account and is definately in. Yikes. If money talks then former senator Lewis would be a filibuster!

More on Chris Cox's Congressional Seat
The more I think about it, Jim Gilchrest, leader of the Minutemen, would be a perfect fit for this seat. I know I know the big money donors/Country Club/New Majority/insert any other RINO OC GOP group here will not like it, but the vast majority of the citizens in the 48th district think illegal immigration and all the byproduct problems it causes is the #1 issue right now. What better way to send a message to the GOP establishment that we will no longer give lip service to this issue any more. I heard the other day that there hasn't been a single case of employers getting prosecuted for hiring illegals. Not one. That is just unacceptable. Just think of the publicity of just one interior sweep through Santa Ana would do to make this a front page story and huge deterrent to all the illegals.
Tom Tancredo For President
I am officially endorsing Rep. Tom Tancredo of Colorado for President in 2008. There hasn't been anyone else in the GOP leadership saying the things that Tom has been saying about illegal immigration. Here is a link from the Denver Post today. I like the story of Karl Rove telling Tom to "never darken the halls of this White House again". Great job Karl. I think we know where Bush stands on this issue.

Denver Cop Killer Caught....In Mexico!
I'm shocked to hear about this, not. Suspected cop killer Raul Gomez-Garcia was apprehended near Sinaloa Mexico today. I can't imagine why he was in Mexico. Is it because maybe he knows that he will not have to face up to his heinous crime by fleeing to Mexico???? Nah, that couldn't be the reason. He was probably just down there for some R&R. Well I guess it is good news that he is in a mexican jail, but what happens from here? Will he get extradited? Probably not because he will be facing the death penalty for sure. What to do now. I say just make any promise we can that he will not face the death penalty or life in prison and when he gets back here we should do exactly what we said we wouldn't....give him death. We could also turn him loose in a secure arena and let the entire Denver Police force beat the crap out of him. Maybe this capture will also lead to Deputy David March's killer, Armando Garcia. Maybe we can finally use this latest episode to bring attention on this problem of Mexico being a safe haven for cop killers. Please visit Escaping Jutice to read more about this issue.
Laguna Landslide
My heart goes out to all the affected families of the Laguna Beach landslide. Alot of those people probably had their life savings tied up in those houses or at the very least, the majority of their net worth in them. Having said that, those people had to know what the risks were of owning a home on a steep hill. Eventually the odds just caught up to them. I hope they all had good property insurance because i'm already hearing that some companies are refusing to pay claims until more info is known about the cause of the landslide. In my opinion, it was probably from all the rain that we received this past year. The bottom line is this...you live in an area known for natural disasters( i.e. 1978 slide and 1993 wildfires). You better make damn sure your insurance policies cover these sort of disasters before you buy a place there. Please don't ask the taxpayers to pay for your own negligence.

Anyone Remember Gary Aldrich????
The MSM are tripping over themselves heaping praise on the now revealed "deep throat" Mark Felt. So while I don't remember the Watergate era because I was only three years old at the time, I do remember the Clinton years like they were yesterday. It just so happened that another FBI agent named Gary Aldrich documented numerous abuses and law breaking activity in the Clinton White House and somehow he was never a hero to the MSM because Clinton was a democrat. The MSM just looked the other way at agent Aldrich's charges. It makes me sick to my stomach to this day to think about all the things that Clinton & Co. got away with.

Soon To Be Open Congressional Seat Here in the OC
The news of the evening is that President Bush is going to nominate Rep Christopher Cox of Newport Beach to be the new S.E.C. Chairman as early as tomorrow morning. This is going to create a free for all special election here in the 48th district where I happen to live. My prediction is that as many as twenty prospective GOP candidates for this race. Whoever wins the GOP primary will be the congressman/woman from the district. I should think seriously about running. I would be perfect. I grew up in this district and know it like the back of my hand. I have a good pulse of what people care about. I already know what my #1 running platform would be....fighting illegal immigration! Congressman Cox has a great resume and did a decent job representing this district, but he was asleep at the wheel on the issue of illegal immigration. We need a true advocate in DC for this issue. I see myself in the mold of a Rep. Tom Tancredo of Colorado and Rep. Ron Paul of Texas. This is a great chance for this district to have a real heart to heart discussion of the issues. Does anyone want to start a draft Allan movement?
