Wacko Jacko Jury Is Set

It's looks like Michael Jackson will finally have a jury of his peers. Today up in Santa Maria the jurors for his child molestation trial were seated. There was not one black person on the jury. Like i said, a true jury of his peers.....Michael Jackson is white! Just look at that picture of him today as he arrived to court.....hello freakshow! The jury is composed of eight non hispanic whites, three hispanics and one person of asian descent.

Border Patrol Overwhelmed

Gee I wonder what John & Ken are going to be talking about today? What a shock, the border patrol is overwhelmed according to this yahoo article. It must be growing season or something because the illegal alien flow is reaching a pitched peak. (sarcasm on)I'm sure there's no al queda terrorists disguised as Mexicans coming across because if there were, I'm sure we would be beefing up our forces along the border(sarcasm off). How many stories like this do the American have to read before we get serious about enforcement?

L.A........ A Disaster Area???

Boy do I have a headline for Jay Leno to use in his next edition of "headlines" on his show. The L.A Times is quoting mayor Jim Hahn as wanting President Bush to declare Los Angeles county a disaster area. Now that's funny! Your asking the President to do something that has been obvious to many of us for years, namely that L.A is and always has been a disaster area. I just laughed my ass off when I read this. You talk about a city going to hell in a handbasket. L.A is it. Now we have had our share of rain here in the last few days and months, but that still doesn't excuse L.A for the last 25 some odd years.

Juan Zarate.....An American Success Story

I just wanted to share an email with everyone here on my blog of a guy that I went to High school with at Mater Dei. His name is Juan Zarate and he is a flat out American success story. I played football with him at MD and my sister Amy, who was in his class(1989), was on the ASB council with him her senior year. Juan ended up going to Harvard and graduating magna cum laude. He has authored a couple of books also. One of them dealt with the chances of democracy in South America I believe. He now works for the Treasury Dept one block from the White House. Here is my email to him and his response:

Juan,

This is Allan Bartlett writing to you, brother of Amy Bartlett from Mater Dei. I was doing my daily surfing on the web and saw your name in an article about Cuba today. I IM'd my sister who is living up in San Francisco and she gave me your email address. When I saw your name I couldn't help but think back to my Mater Dei years and all the great memories I have of those years. I can still picture in my head the video that you and Amy and a few others did when you played Geraldo Rivera doing some hilarious skit, or the time when you were on the freshman football team and you kept right on running past everyone in pratice when the coach had already told you you to stop, but he hadn't blown the whisle yet and you just kept right on booking almost to the point of running through the lunch area! Hilarious dude. Those were great times.
I'm still living in the city where I grew up, Irvine. I got married three years ago and I enjoying life in socal. My wife is an attorney, but she doesn't practice anymore. It stressed her out to much. You know, billable hours! Anyway as for myself, I'm a licensed commodities broker working in Huntington Beach. My wife and I are plugged into the OC Republican political scene. When your done in DC, you should move back home and run for state assembly or congress. Anything is better than Loretta Sanchez or Joe Dunn who currently serve those Santa Ana districts(I'm assuming you're a Republican :^).
Well it's late and i'm off to bed, but I just had to drop you a line and say hello. I'd love to get together with you when you make back out here in the future. Keep up the great work busting all those terrorists. You are doing a great job.

Sincerely,

Allan Bartlett...class of 1988 .....Honor, Glory, Love

P.S would you please make something of yourself......just kidding....ciao

Hey, Allan. Thanks for the email. I love your family and often think of you guys.

I'm glad to hear all is going well. Things here are hectic, but well worth the exhaustion. I think we are doing some good things. I imagine you have seen some additional burdens in your line of work related to anti-money laundering controls.

Indeed, I am a Republican, and my position is a Presidential appointment and Senate confirmed, which is a huge honor for me. I appreciate the sentiment, but the Executive Branch is pretty good stuff.

Please give Amy my best and tell your family that I say hello. I miss Orange County and all the folks.

Take care, Allan.

Fox News Hires Martin Frost

Even though we probably don't agree on very much, I'm glad Fox snapped up a guy like former congressman Frost from Texas. Make no mistake about it, Martin was a partisan, but he could always reach across the aisle to get things done. He will bring a unique perspective to Fox being that he almost became the DNC chairman. He and Newt and Ann Coulter should have some battle royales. The Bush haters over at dKos are probably viewing this hire as Martin selling out or "we knew he was always a DINO", but they are on the fringe now. Have fun dems with Howard Dean taking you guys on your journey into the political abyss. Let me know how the ride was.

Eason Jordon is Gonzo

I have avoided posting about Mr Jordon's Davos comments because quite frankly, they spoke for themself and so many other fine blogs have been doing the heavy lifting on this topic. The first One that comes to mind is my neighbor, the great one, Mr. Hugh Hewitt. Today, Eason Jordon has been forced to resign because of a self-inflicted wound. It was only a matter of time. If you're the news director of CNN and you accuse our soldiers of targeting journalists for assasination, you had better have some ironclad evidence to back up your claim. As it turned out, Mr Eason had no evidence and that is why he had to resign. It's not like CNN had much credibility to begin with, but this should be a mortal blow to their news division.

New Ronald Reagan Stamp Unveiled Today

The US Post Office unveiled a new stamp today to commemorate Ronald Reagan's 94th birthday and his great legacy to the country. I still remember the day he died last June like it was yesterday. My wife and I waited all night long to view his casket at the Reagan Library.

Deep Throat To Be Revealed Soon

According to Bob Woodward, his anonymous source known to the world as "Deep Throat" is ill. When the person dies and only when he dies is when Woodward has said that the name of the source will be revealed. I just got done watching CNN Sunday with Wolf Blitzer and they were speculating that the source could have been W's dad, Bush Sr. My guess has always been Fred Fielding. John Dean swears that it was not Fielding, but alot of evidence points to Fielding. In fact a political science class at the University of Illinois has concluded that the source was in fact Fielding too. I guess we will have to wait a few more weeks or months to know for sure who Deep Throat was

Fed Raises Short Term Rate Again A Quarter Percent

This is starting to sound like a broken record. The Fed raised the discount rate another 1/4 point higher today. That makes six consecutive 1/4 rate hikes. Like I said a few months ago on my blog, just follow the trend. The trend is your friend in investing.

Howard Dean: The Gift That Keeps On Giving

It looks like Gov. Dean has locked up the necessary support to become the next DNC Chairman. Is this not great. When do we get to hear the "I have a scream speech" Part II? Just asking.

re: Hillary

Did everyone hear about Hillary fainting at one of her appearances? My guess is that she is having a hard time juggling all the different positions on the issues she has been taking and fainted because she couldn't remember all the lies.
