Marine Sniper Gets Silver Star
I love reading about stories like this. Marine Sniper John Ethan Place received the Silver Star yesterday down at Camp Pendleton. He had 32 confirmed kills last year in the battle for Fallouja during a two week period. Nothing strikes more fear in the enemy than knowing that Marine snipers are in position ready to end your life at any given moment. These guys are worth their weight in gold on the battlefield. Here's a quote from Place's commander, "Maj. Gen. Richard F. Natonski, commander of the 1st Marine Division, said Place has earned a spot among the Marine Corps' top heroes, including the legendary sniper from Vietnam, Gunnery Sgt. Carlos Hathcock". Now that is saying something. These guys are America's finest.

Tom,
When you see him again in the future, please say thank you to him from me and my family. It just gives me the chills everytime I read about soldiers like Ethan. They are the guys that keep us free.

Allen, Ethan is my son Corey's best friend. They played football together in H.S. Ethan was quarterback, & Corey was tightend. They were a joy to watch. Corey is a medic in the Army & serverd a year in Iraq. They both tied the second yellow ribbon on a tree in my front yard.Which will stay up until all the troops come home.God bless them all
