Gee I didn't see this coming....NOT! The Washington Times is going to report on Friday that the RNC has fired its small donor phone solicitors. Small donor donations are off a staggering 40%. The RNC employees are saying that 99% of the small donors out there are flat out refusing to give money anymore to the RNC because of Bush's amnesty sellout. GOOD! It's about frigging time something like this happens. I'm sorry the RNC callers lost their job, but it was inevitable. Basically the callers were asked to sell ice to eskimos. It ain't happening and it ain't going to happen. This might finally be something the RNC finally gets through their thick skulls.....NO AMNESTY!

All's Not Well In Laker Land
It's been a while since my last sports post, but I can't let what's happening to my beloved Lakers go without comment. The shi* is hitting the fan big time right now. Kobe has accused the Lakers of lying to him about wanting to rebuild the team after dumping Shaq back in 2005 and he has demanded to be traded now. They also were telling people that it was Kobe who demanded that Shaq be traded when the truth was that Dr. Buss personally met with Kobe at the Four Seasons in Newport and told Kobe that "he was not going to re-sign Shaq". This is a sad spectacle. All the blame lays with the Laker front office IMO. Ever since Jerry West left, the team has made all the wrong moves. On top of all this, it was reported today also that Dr. Buss was arrested for a DUI down in Carlsbad with a 23 year old babe in tow. The dam has burst. It's time to clean house in this organization. Fire Mitch Kupchak and the entire front office. Bring Jerry West back ASAP to right this ship. Geezz

State Senator Tom Harman To Visit The Bartlett Casa
I'm happy to announce that Lynn and I will be hosting a coffee for State Senator Tom Harman this Thursday. Holding a coffee event is kinda old school in today's political age. It's a good chance for some of our neighbors to tell the Senator what's on their mind these days. It's also a good way for the Senator to connect with his constituents on a personal level. Another good reason to stop by is that Lynn is making one of her world famous german chocolate layer cakes. If anyone who reads my blog is interested in coming, please shoot me an email at gab200176@yahoo.com and I'll give you more details.

Real CSI Comes To My Neighborhood
Stop the presses. This kinda thing is a rare occurrence. So I'm driving to work this morning going my normal route and Irvine PD had Ridgeline drive blocked off at Turtle Rock Drive. I was curious why they had it blocked off, but I was running late to work and didn't think twice about it until I read this on the OC Register's site just now. Two bodies were found by a small brush fire at the bottom of the hill at University & Ridgeline Dr. This is scary because I walk right past this place a few times a month while out walking. It turns out that one of the positively ID'd bodies was the daughter of a woman whose house burnt down in Anaheim and who was badly beaten as well. I'm not a rocket scientist, but I'm going to venture a guess that this was domestic violence.
It's also ironic because Irvine was just named safest big city in California today. Go figure. With Irvine population passing the 200k population figure, these sort of crimes figure to be more common even though the crime rate will probably stay the same. It only takes a few bad apples out of the 200k people to get headlines. I'll still take Irvine any day over our gang infested city next door of Santa Ana.

Bush Hails Amnesty Deal By Senate
There has never been a President so eager to sell out the interests of the American people as what is happening with George W Bush. This is the end of the GOP party IMO if this immigration bill passes. I will never again give money or support to the RNC, NRCC, NRSC, etc....NOTHING, FOREVER! It's time to start burning up the phone lines and flood our representatives with angry letters. It's time for a political human sacrifice on steroids. Are you listening David Dreier?

GOP Senators Sign Off On Amnesty Deal
According to Redstate(link currently down from Drudgereport traffic!), GOP Senators have signed off on an amnesty deal. If this is true, the sellout of the American people is complete by my own GOP party. I guess a 33% approval rating is not enough for President Bush and the open border crowd. Single digit approval is right around the corner if this passes. My neighbor Hugh Hewitt is already trying to pin the blame for this bill on John & Ken, Jim Gilchrist, and Tom Tancredo. Hugh will never blame George Bush for this because he is a total shill for this administration.

Le Defeat!
Okay my French is very limited, but the headline sounded funny. As Lee noted below, I applaud France for taking a few baby steps away from a socialist way of government. The socialist candidate Ségolène Royal was defeated by about six percentage points. The country is still basically a socialist republic, but new President Nicolas Sarkozy wants to move France in a direction that will allow employers more latitude about hiring and firing employees. This also was a protest vote about France's runaway immigration problem from what I've been reading. I'm actually going to link to a good column by EJ Dionne today about how a lot of countries lately have been voting out their "moderate" socialist governments(that's an oxymoron) in favor of more moderate semi-conservative ones. I still think Hillary's socialist agenda can win in the US in 2008 if we're not out of Iraq by then.

Macarthur Park Incident
This story is like manna from heaven for the open border crowd. Mayor Reconquista even came back from a trade mission to Mexico(isn't that ironic) to make sure his face was in front of a camera to show his faux outrage. I will stipulate that it seems the police didn't exercise proper judgement by beating up reporters and their camera people. I also think shooting off all the non lethal rubber bullets and beanbags was probably unnecessary. The LAPD has handed some plaintiff's attorneys a gift. All involved here are acting so politically correct after said incident. I heard that one of the complaints was that the order to disperse was not given in Spanish. It was only given in English and by a helicopter. Silly police, if they really wanted all the illegal aliens & protesters in the park to disperse quickly, all they had to do is yell "La Migra" into a bullhorn and that park would have been cleared out in record time. You've never seen illegal aliens run faster in their life when those words are uttered.

First GOP Presidential Debate Tonight
Tonight will be the first debate between the announced GOP Presidential candidates at the Reagan Library up in Simi Valley. You'll notice I said "announced" candidates because there's one guy who hasn't quite announced yet and will not be at the debate, but he will be on a lot of people's minds. I'm talking about Fred Thompson. Mr. Thompson will be at a dinner tomorrow night here in OC for the Lincoln Club.
It should be an interesting debate. I hope the three frontrunners will be forced to give answers on their solution for our illegal alien invasion that's been happening. All three frontrunners that I've heard speak on the issue so far are either slightly for amnesty(Romney) or full tilt for open boders(Giuliani & McCain). This is going to open a lot of GOP voters' eyes when the person they thought they liked comes out for amnesty.
As far as I can tell, the only candidate out of the ten that wants us out of Iraq is Ron Paul. This is going to be a nice contrast from all the other candidates. Hopefully the voters will take notice of his principled stand. I think Rep Paul stands to gain a lot of support out of this debate when people hear about his ideas for the future.

Notorious Former Irvine Resident Zach De la Rocha Calls For President Bush To Be "Tried, Hung and Shot "
Paging Mr. De la Rocha...."You have a phone call waiting from the Secret Service". I've had some disagreements with President Bush a lot lately, but that doesn't mean he should be "tried, hung and shot". If ever there was a case to be made of a threat against the President, this is it. Some idiot fan of his might actually take him seriously. Whatever happened to the nice liberals of the Woodstock Era with all their peace symbols, "make love not war talk, etc. Today's young musicans like Rage Against The Machine are vicious people. They need to mellow out. Here's a link to the article about this past weekend's Coachella Music Show.
Illegal Alien Day errr Mayday
There's so many play on words to describe a day like today, May Day. Personally, I'm just looking forward to there being a lot fewer vehicles on the road. It reminds me of a better time when you could actually expect to get to where you were headed without having to factor in for traffic jams. It's ironic that the illegals have picked a day of celebration that also happens to be a big holiday in Communist Countries like Cuba, China, Russia, etc. I was listening to KFI this morning and they said that LAUSD was going to provide buses for the students who want to attend the festivities. I should be shocked, but we are talking about LAUSD. They stopped caring about kids getting an education a long time ago. ICE should be the ones providing a bus for all the illegals at the protest....a one way bus back to where they came from.
