Tan Nguyen Fiasco Thoughts

The haze is starting to clear on the infamous letter GOP candidate for the 47th CD Tan Nguyen sent out to potential 47th CD voters and a few things are clear. This is one of the worst self-inflicted wounds I've seen any candidate make for a long time here in OC. It was like taking a bazooka and shooting yourself in the foot. Hopefully Mr. Nguyen will take Chairman Scott Baugh's advice and withdrawal from the race as soon as possible. We still have not heard from Mr. Nguyen for his side of the story however convoluted it may be. In my inexpert legal opinion, he has put himself into legal jeopody with this stunt.

Once again the local blogosphere has led the way in reporting this story. Kudos to Orange Juice and OC Blog for staying on the cutting edge of political reporting. This just goes to show that anything a candidate does, be it fair play or foul play, will make its way onto the local blogs for all to digest.

This leads lastly to a rant about the 69th GOP Central Committee members and its leadership. It's time for adult supervision to happen. Between Tan Nguyen's f*** up, Ryan Gene pretending to be a candidate, running a non existent campaign and alledgedly not living in the district and putting himself in legal jeopody, Art Pedroza being a loose cannon....you get the picture. It's not pretty and it gives the entire party a black eye by the actions of a few people. Can we please have some serious candidates 69th guys for the next cycle? Is that too much to ask for?

Do you ever spend time with your family? In looking at your blog...it seems you are a very busy person. Just make sure you know that family is really what it's all about

Thanks for the comment there anonymous. What it has to do with this post I have no idea. I think everyone would like to spend more time with their families. Hopefully Beth Krom, Sukhee Kang, Mary Ann Gaido and lots of other Democrats will be able to spend a lot more time with their families after November 7th.

Ain't gonna happen. The Tan siutation is business as usual for your corrupt party that will sell it's soul to win an election and doens't have the will or smarts to govern.

And to remind you, the last time your party had the Mayor's office, the biggest concern was how to make Irvine a more romantic city.

Beth and Sukhee are going to win; they've done a great job and have more money and more support from actual voters in Irvine. Gaido is pulling in more money than Shea who is still the most popular Irvine city candidate of your party. Shea's alleged threats against the president of the Irvine City Employee's aren't helping her either.

Meanwhile I heard the local talk radio blowhards trying their best to support Nguyen's odious messages - "hey, the letter was sorta kinda true, right?"

I think there is a number of people out there who, sotto-voce, kind of agree with this sort of tactic.
