Late Word About Bush Signing The Secure Fence Act(or lack thereof)
We're getting word today that President Bush still has not signed the Secure Fence Act yet. The signing ceremony last week in Arizona was for the funding of the fence, but not the authorization. I hope this turns out to be nothing, but if god forbid Bush does not sign this authorization bill for the fence and it is not built....well let's just say there is going to be hell to pay. I don't know why Bush is even messing around with this issue. Sign the bill already Mr. President! It's not like we trust you on this issue. Why are you giving me more reason to doubt you? I'll close with a famous line from President Reagan..."trust, but verify". In this case, we need to verify if the Secure Fence Act has been signed and if not when. Stay tuned.
Michelle Malkin has a roundup here.
Here is the article from Mickey Kaus that started this buzz
******************5:20 PM UPDATE***************************
I just spoke with a source in Congressman's Campbell's office to let him know what was happening on talk radio and the blogosphere. He is getting back to me tomorrow with an update.
****************6:11PM UPDATE*******************************
It looks like the bill hasn't been formally presented to the President yet, so the ten day clock to sign a bill has not commenced. Allah Pundit at Hot Air says that that a source on the Hill has told him that "the bill has been purposefully delayed so Bush can sign it closer to the election for maximum political effect". Now that makes sense. Forgive me if I thought Bush was trying to weasel out of signing the Fence Bill.

Allen -- isn't God spelled with a capital "G"? They one I pray to spells his name that way.
I laughed at your "hell to pay" comment if W doesn't sign the bill. What are you going to do? Vote Democrat? That will show him!
It doesn't matter what Bush does or doesn't do; you guys are stuck with him and everything he does, because you've already established that anyone not in lockstep with the president is a traitor and not a patriot.

I don't think you liberals are traitors Dan. You're just wrong 99% of the time :) BTW, some of us in the GOP don't support Bush on everything. In fact if you go through and read my posts from the time Bush got re-elected, you could say I am not a very big supporter of a lot of his policies, especially on the illegal immigration issue.

Quite frankly, not a lot separates liberals and conservatives. And while I don't support the Dems 100 percent, it would take a lot for me to vote GOP.
As for us being wrong 99% of the time:
Bush was wrong about:
WMDs in Iraq
Invading a national that never attacked us
Not knowing the difference between Shiite and Suni
Outing a covert operative
Firing CIA Arabic translators because they were gay
Gay Marriage (when it gets to a challenge of the eqaul protection clause of the constitution, it will be the law of the land..you read it here first)
NSA dometic spying
Torture in America's name
Rendition
Tax cuts to the wealthiest 1%
Wanting to cut combat pay for troops until shamed into reversing course
Harriet Myers
and I could go on and on.....
am I the only one who reads this blog anymore?
