Thoughts On Rudy Giuliani

I just sat through a great lunch speech by former Mayor Of NYC, Rudy Giuliani up here here in Sacramento. He did not close the sale on me though. I think out of all the main contenders for GOP Presidential nomination, he probably has the inside track at this point. We shall see. His positions on immigration(he's pro amnesty) and abortion(pro choice)though are going to be big obstacles in his way, not to mention he also wants to keep the status quo in Iraq. Memo to Rudy: Californians want action in enforcing our immigration laws, not rhetoric. This is ironic because in his lunch speech, the Mayor was talking about how the Congress has been debating non-binding resolutions with no meaning. His point was that leaders don't have the luxury of debating non binding resolutions. Decisions need to be made. I agree with that, but if the decision is to give amnesty to all the law breakers then I can never support a politician like that and neither will Californians.

I saw you described as a "libertarian Republican" in the San Jose Mercury News article on Schwarzenegger. Great! I hope you are aware of the Republican Liberty Caucus which represents the libertarian wing of the GOP. Doug Lorenz in Sacramento Chairs the group. www.rlc.org

I like your Blog, and would be interested in a link exchange. I have a website at www.mainstreamlibertarian.com and a blog at www.libertarianrepublican.blogspot.com

BTW, I'm supporting Rudy Giuliani. He's convinced me.

Nice. Glad ot see you support man who cheated on his wife with two women;one of whom he gave a city job to which she was unqualified for. And let's not forget Berard Kerik, Ridy's boy. Rudy doesn't have the temperment to serve as president.

Amen to that Dan. I guess we now know just how unimportant that whole "family Values" schtick was to the GOP.

Turns out to be an issue of convenience.

Dan, Really!? Really.... Rudy isn't a worthy Presidential canditate because he had an affair? Are you forgetting that one of our greatest President's had a scandalous affair with a girl in a blue dress named Monica? A little action on the side doesn't necessarily disqualify someone in my book. I'd take Bill Clinton over Bush (either of them) any day of the week.
I'm not even Republican and I really do like Rudy after they way he handled NYC, the US, and the world regarding 9-11.

Actually, Rudy had three affairs and in one case, appointed his mistress to a city job she wasn't qualified for that paid very well.

I don't personally have a problem with a any politician's personal life, but this is a case of shoving GOP hypocrisy right back in their face.
