Invasion USA

This is what happens when the laws are not enforced. You have half a million illegal aliens marching and protesting in Los Angeles that think they're entitled to citizenship because they're only doing jobs that Americans won't do. I welcome this debate. It's about freakkin time that people get activated on this issue. There is still time left to save this country. We don't even need H.R 4437 to do this although it would be nice to have in the arsenal. All we have to do is enforce the current laws already on the books.

MEChA specifically encourages its Chicano and Chicana members to put "raza," or their race, above all others. And, the group promotes the liberation of "Atzlan," which includes a major portion of the U.S. southwest Mechistas believe was stolen from Mexico by the United States.

Remember when MeChA's objectives sounded absurd and laughable? It's happening folks.

LA has already been "reconquisted" and now they want to conquer the rest of the state and then the country. We truly are Mexico's bitch. They're just exporting all their poverty to our country and the stupid politicians won't do anything about it because they are afraid of being called a xenophobe or racist. Check please.

Maybe our gutless congressional delegation will step up to the plate...wait, Campbell is for illegals getting driver's license, Issa not only wants the check points gone but got into a high speed pursuit with the Border Patrol, and Bush is for them but they don't even know it. I love it when they march around with the mexican flag. You know it get's every American pissed off.

    Allan,

How could you tell every single person in the march was illegal? Do you have some unknown mutant power of telepathy that told you? Did you ask every single person in the crowd? Or are you making a stereotype because you stereotype anyone of brown skin, from Mexico who dares to stand up for immigrants rights as an illegal? Or is it because you went to that remedial school in Westwood filled with idiots who don't know their ass from a hole in the ground?

I'm using something called poetic license to make a point jackass. A lot of the marchers were illegal. That I am sure of. Skin color has nothing to do with being here illegally. If you're in this country illegally, you have no rights of a citizen. You have the right to be deported and that's it. Oh wait I forgot, you do have many other rights like welfare, schooling, healthcare, etc. My bad.

I didn't know they now have peotic licesnes now. Do you get them along with the handicap placards you Bruins love to abuse. Are illegal immigrants eligible for poetic licenses? Thanks for the pleasant reminder of why that remedial school in Westwood will always be second rate.

Why not? They receive everything else for free here. Poetic licenses don't cost a dime, but since they can't habla or speaka engliss, they wouldn't comprende one.

    Bruin hater, hater.

I determined that 478,542 were illegal. If these marchs keep up I suggest everyone invest in the business that makes plastic handcuffs.

Let’s get it straight. There are 2 kinds of immigrants. Those that came here legally and those that came here without U.S. government authorization. The 2nd kind are ILLEGAL ALIEN IMMIGRANTS. Those that seek to excuse ILLEGAL ALIENS try to lump legal and ILLEGAL ALIENS together and refer to all of them as immigrants. How convenient and self-serving. We don’t need immigration reform. We need border control reform!

A favorite premise is that the ILLEGAL ALIENS come here to “do jobs Americans won’t do”. GARBAGE! So the ILLEGAL ALIENS who come here without permission are doing us a favor by breaking our laws and dropping there problems on our doorstep? I believe the claim that we need more unskilled foreign workers is untrue. Go to any fast food restaurant in S. CA and you find almost all Hispanic teenagers and Hispanic young adults working in them speaking Spanish. Most of these people are either ILLEGAL ALIENS or the children of ILLEGAL ALIENS. We can’t find Americans to work in S. CA fast food restaurants? Young blacks and whites used to work in them. The young black male unemployment rate now is over 20%. Last fall I was in Minnesota and Wisconsin. They had very few Hispanics working in their fast food restaurants. They actually had Americans working in them and many of them were adults in there 30’s, 40’s and 50’s. You didn’t have to repeat your order several times trying to get them to understand it either. If Minnesota and Wisconsin can get along fine without all the Hispanics, why do we need them?

The fact is that the jobs that are unattractive to American workers have become so precisely as a result of the presence of so many illegal workers willing to undercut American workers’ wages. Recognition of the relationship between declining wages and the increase in illegal workers leads to the question of whether we should accept and institutionalize this downward spiral, which has accelerated the trend in income inequality in the United States, or, alternatively, try to reverse the process by attacking the problem. Conceding to foreign workers those jobs whose wages have been depressed by illegal workers implies either that this alien population will be permanently consigned to doing these low-wage jobs — which is anathema to a society that believes in equal opportunity — or that this alien population has to be consistently replenished by newly arriving legal or illegal workers. Neither of these alternatives allows for the supply of illegal low-wage foreign labor to become diminished in order to restore wages that have been depressed by illegal workers. And both alternatives would perpetuate the rising number of poorly skilled and uneducated foreigners who live at the margins of our economy. It isn’t that Americans won’t do these jobs. It is that ILLEGAL ALIENS will work for less money and thereby take away the jobs from Americans. The more uneducated foreigners legal or illegal there are the more wages will be depressed. There are about 12 million ILLEGAL ALIENS here now how many more do we need?

While I am a big supporter of President Bush, I feel that he is misguided on this issue. In a speech last week he defined AMNESTY as giving automatic citizenship to all ILLEGAL ALIENS. That is a very broad definition of the word. This is how he claims with a straight face that his guest worker proposal is not amnesty. My definition of amnesty is much more narrow. I consider amnesty to be allowing ILLEGAL ALIENS who came here without authorization, background checks or medical disease checks to stay here permanently. It is too bad that many people don’t have the backbone to follow the law and just round all of them up and deport them.

Right on Lee and welcome to the Powder Blue Report. For those who have never met Lee, he is one our community leaders here in Irvine along with Lynn and I and a few others. We are in charge of making sure all the Republican voters in Irvine get to the polls. We make all the doors in the Irvine precincts get knocked on.
