More Posts Later Today

Between work and campaign stuff, I haven't had much of a chance to post here in the last few days. I'll have some stuff up hopefully later today about my take on the state of the race here in Irvine and around the state.

What, has Team Irvine changed its position on Pro 90 now that Schwartzenegger has come out against it as well as other top conservatives over at Jubal's site? Or the new yellow signs about 70,000 cards coming(the signs are too large and violate city law)....or will you talk about all the money John Duong has reaised by neglect to tell everyone that 83 percent of it is from out of town.

You don't get it or you choose not to get it. The issue is not outside the city campaign contributions or contributions to slate mailers - both are legal. The issue is that it appears that Krom, Kang and Gaido, in conjunction with the Hometown Voter Guide, have illegally received excess contributions and have not reported those contributions. Furthermore, the contributions are in excess because they are not independent expenditures. Large, truly independent expenditures are legal.

Time for Krom, Kang, Gaido and, yes, Agran to pay the piper.

Hometown Voter Guide has been around since I moved here 10 years ago; if it's illegal, then so are the slate mailers from Frank Jao an the Lincoln Club. Or don't you get it Allan? Your side is funding in much the same way. Why is yours legal and HTVG not? As Blondie might say, "one way or another...."

The complaint lays out what is illegal about the hometown voter guide. No the other slate mailers are not run this way - phony Measures or committees. Monies for support of measures are not diverted to pay for the advertisements of candidates.
