There were also seven patriotic Democrats that voted for the amendment. Kudos to them.

To me, the scary part about all this is that there is a United States Senator from Georgia named Johnny Isakson. I've never heard of him.

And what's with this Georgia tradition of their Pooh-Bahs maintaining their childhood names well into adulthood? Jimmy Carter, his brother Billy and the Governor, Sonny Perdue, come to mind.

Is immigration a big problem in Georgia? I would think not.

You got to have these no name senators talk to the man, now retired senator Zell Miller. Let Zell set them straight.

I'm surprised McCain is not on that list. These senators believe that we must have comprehensive immigration reform. To secure the border it is said that we must have a guest worker program. Why? What does one have to do with the other? Spanish to English Translation: To reduce the number of illegal aliens crossing our border we will let them cross legally! Just think what a great idea this is! Now we know how to reduce the murder rate. Just legalize murder.

People say that the border leaks like a sieve. That implies that there is some kind of screen that stops some illegals and is better than nothing. That is not true. That’s why we need a wall. It is said that Mexico is a friend of ours. Our neighbors who are our friends don’t enter our homes without permission.

I heard an opponent of putting the national guard on the border say that we should not meet new immigrants with soldiers. I guess they want a brass band for lawbreakers!

President Bush pointed out that illegals use a lot of health care, school and prison resources. So to solve this problem he wants to legalize them. How does that solve the problem? All that does is make these costs permanent. He makes a plea that the people with “deep roots” for compassionate reasons should be allowed to stay. Whatever roots they have established, they did while they were breaking the law by being here. So it is there own fault if being deported inconveniences them. We need to have a little backbone and not give in to every little problem illegals have. Afterall, they can reunite there family easily by going back to Mexico. I don’t see why so few people have the backbone to obey the law & deport illegals. Apparently, some believe the sight of rounding up illegals would make America look like Nazi Germany. However, Nazi Germany rounded up people who were born there & killed them. We would round up people who invaded our country by sneaking across the border and would send them back where they came from. IDIOTS!
