Kudos To The OC GOP Party

I got home from work today and in my mailbox was a brilliant mailer from the OC GOP party with John Duong, Christina Shea, and Bill Mavity's picture on it with a big fat endorsement announcing to our Irvine GOP voters their Republican candidates for Irvine City Council and Mayor(if my scanner were working I would scan the mailer and post it). Also in the mailer was a note from Scott Baugh announcing the endorsement along with an an absentee ballot application for Lynn and myself. I've never been happier to be an OC Republican than right now knowing my party is going to pull out all the stops to make sure that Beth Krom and Sukkee Kang are able to "spend a lot more time with their families". I want to publicly thank Scott Baugh and the party for making this endorsement. It means a lot to me. Here's to hoping that this is only the beginning of the air support. Our ground troops stand at the ready to deliver.

Another Cop Killed By An Illegal Alien

How many times do we have to read this headline before the border is sealed off? I really don't get it. I lay the blame squarely on the Bush administration for this. They have decided to play "footsie" with Sens McCain, Kennedy, etc on this issue. In their zeal for open borders, good cops are continuing to be killed because of this. If the President really wanted to control the border, like Nike, he would just do it. It's sickening.

Illegal Aliens & The Green Party

This news bit is hilarious. The Democrats believe illegal aliens should be able to vote in local, state & national elections, but most won't come right out and admit it save for maybe people like Mayor Reconquista of LA, Gil Cedillo, etc. The Green Party in California however is right out in the open about this. They want to give illegal immigrants the right to vote in local elections if they can prove they live in a local jurisdiction. The state party approved a resolution supporting the right to vote -- for noncitizens -- last weekend. Here's a quote from one of their spokeholes...

"All local decisions have a direct impact on people's lives, and the Green Party feels that if you're impacted by those decisions and you're a working resident, you should be able to vote on those," said Pat Driscoll, a Green Party spokesman.

I love their logic. So I should be able to sneak into any country, take up residence there and then have the right to vote anywhere I want.

CRA Launches Victory Team 2006

This is awesome. In addition to being a thorn in the side of the Governor and his campaign team, this new CRA initiative will empower conservative grassroots volunteers to make phone calls, walk precincts and promote candidates without having to drink the kool aid the Governor's campaign team wants us to drink. This is great for people like myself who just can't stomach the governor's policy decisions anymore. We have one of the best down ticket slate of candidates that we have ever had. This new website will let volunteers download and print off flyers that advocate support for guys like Tom McClintock and Dick Mountjoy. I heard from some Arnold campaign staffers this morning about this initiative by the CRA and they are not happy about it. This makes me even happier. Arnold has brought this on himself. Did he expect that we would lay down and play dead while he gives the Democrats everything they wanted this past year? I don't think so. Arnold's people are spinning that since we(conservatives) didn't turn out for the past special election, we deserve what's been coming out of Sacramento the last few months. Nice attitude guys.

Lastly I just wanna say....keep up the great work Mike Spence and the CRA.

Mater Dei Beats Mission Viejo Finally

My alma mater Mater Dei finally won a game against the Mission Viejo Diablos last night at the Santa Ana Bowl 17-14. They had to do it in overtime, but a win is a win.

We also heard this morning that Reggie Bush & the SC Trojans were cheating by taking money from an agent...alledgedly :)

Lastly I didn't make it over to the Border War screening in Newport Beach so my movie review will have to wait.

Border War Movie Screening Today

I'm headed down to the Lido Island Theatre this afternoon after work for the exclusive John & Ken screening of the new movie Border War. I'm really looking forward to this film. I'll have a full report on it by tomorrow.

Larry Agran & Cronies To The OC Grand Jury....Go To Hell!

It's very clear now that Larry Agran and his puppets Beth Krom and Sukkee Kang have no need for oversight or the OC Grand Jury. Last night in a what's come to be a routine 3 to 2 vote, the Irvine City Council told the OC Grand Jury to go pound sand. Once again it's Larry's way or the highway, ethics or breaking laws not withstanding. I'm sure the Grand Jury is going to be real happy to hear what happened last night.

Memo to Grand Jury: Larry still has not gotten the message. It's time to turn up the heat. Maybe an indictment for corruption would change Larry's mind. Dictators hate it when their authority is challenged.

Irvine Republican Council Has A Website.....

I have just been informed that our Irvine Republican Council has a website and it is now on the server for all to view. Here is the new site. It couldn't have come at a better time. The race for control of the Irvine City council hangs in the balance this fall. This is a great resource for Irvine voters to check into. The bad stuff happens in the city while they're hard at work or late Tuesday nights during marathon Council meetings when no one is in attendence. We have it so good in Irvine that a lot of people don't realize all the bad stuff that goes on behind the scenes.

I'm surprised I haven't received any Hometown Voter Guide mailers yet slamming John Duong for desiring to turn Irvine into a North Orange County-ish slum. Rest assured fellow Irvine citizens...they are coming.

A Couple Of Important GOP Primaries On Tap For Today

Today is a great day to send some RINOs packing(no pun intended...you you know elephants...GOP..pachaderms...never mind). The first big primary is the Rhode Island US Senate GOP primary. This race pits RINO par excellence incumbent Lincoln Chafee versus Club For Growth Reagan Republican Steve Laffey. From what I've read on the blogs, this race is going down to the wire tonight. Here's to hoping Lincoln can "spend more time with the family" and is defeated.

The next big race on my radar is a bellwether contest for AZs 8th CD in Southeastern Arizona pitting an open borders guy in Steve Huffman versus a strong enforcement first candidate in Randy Graf. This is the seat that is held currently by Rep Jim Kolbe, but he has decided to retire rather than face a losing fight over his horrible record on illegal immigration(smart move Jim. He saw the writing on the wall). The last poll had Mr. Graf winning by about eight points, but the NRCC has stuck their nose in this open seat primary and backed Huffman. Note to self....no more $$$$ to the NRCC. They still don't get it about illegal immigration. This is a marginal district registration wise. It is a great opportunity to see how a strong enforcement first candidate can do in what's sure to be a bad cycle for Republicans. If Randy Graf can pull this win out in November, it will be huge.

***********************8:25:PM UPDATE***************************

Graf is winning in Pima county which is historically his weakest area. Pima is basically the city of Tucson. He will kick Huffman's ass in Cochise & Santa Cruz counties when those votes roll in. This race is over. Now on to November. Take your open borders and shove em' Jim Kolbe & the NRCC.

Along with the great news that Randy Graf will be representing the GOP mantle in November comes the news tonight that Lincoln Chafee has beaten back a tough challenge from Steve Laffey by about eight points. I was really hoping Laffey would make a better showing than he did tonight. The voters in liberal R.I have spoken. They like their Republicans Democratic lite.

**********************10:10PM UPDATE*******************

Randy Graf is ahead of Steve Huffman by almost 5% (Graf has 19,098 votes and Huffman has 17,046 votes) with only 25% left to count in Pima County and all of the vote is counted in Cochise County. Your winner is Randy Graf!

GOP Hopes Fade Of Holding The House

The spectre of a Democratically controlled House of Representatives is growing by the day. As I'm sitting here in my office wraping up a day of trading, I'm watching and listening to Larry Kudlow talk about the Tradesports contract for re-electing the GOP House at a 38 bid right now. For those of you in Santa Ana or Rio Linda, that means that there is only about a 38% chance right now that the GOP will keep its majority next term according to the people who are betting on this outcome happening. That is pathetic, but not wholly unexpected. We've gone through the reasons why the GOP has been squandering its majority rule and now the chickens are just coming home to roost so to speak. I hope those profligate spending, open borders, and disastrous monetary policies were worth it guys. You now have given a 62% chance of handing the Speakers gavel to Nancy Pelosi. Great job.

RIP Steve Irwin

So I'm driving home last night from watching what's sure to be an all time classic movie, Beerfest(more about it later) and tuned into the last part of Matt Drudge's radio show to hear that Steve Irwin aka "the crocodile hunter" had died. My first thought was that I knew this day was coming and I wondered what kind of animal/reptile had killed him. I was shocked to learn that it was from a stingray of all animals. I had envisioned Steve getting bitten in half by a crocodile or taking a bite from an extremely venomous snake. He has had a huge impact animal preservation front. The odds just caught up with him though. He took too many chances IMO. You have to respect any animal that has the potential to kill you. A lot of my readers probably don't know that I have been into reptiles myself ever since I was growing up in Irvine and I found my first kingsnake at the ripe ol' age of nine years old. I have been fascinated by snakes ever since then. I never miss a chance to go to the San Diego Zoo or Long Beach Aquarium to see all the cool wildlife. Anyways I was very sad to hear this news. May he rest in peace.

I'm Done With Arnold

I really did give him a chance to earn my support this year, but the last few weeks have just been too much to stomach anymore. I understand most Republicans will still vote for him and that is there right, but I don't have to enable him anymore. I feel like a battered wife who has finally made the decision to leave an abusive relationship and seek counsel and comfort with others of like mind. His sellout of Republican values has been breathtaking the last few weeks. He signed one of the biggest job killer bills in the history of California in the Greenhouse Gas Bill. Maybe he's secretly trying to kill all jobs in the state with this bill and therefore dry up the day labor jobs and making the illegals go to other states to look for work(I highly doubt it). He also pushed through a another job killer with the minimum wage increase. He repudiated his past support for Prop 187 and wants it both ways on the illegal immigration debacle. Instead of reigning in spending like he promised, he has put a slate of bonds on the Prop ballot that will indebt/leverage this state into debt for years into the future. Just vote NO on every bond measure. He signed a bill that will ban private schools from accepting state grant money because of the schools deeply held moral beliefs i.e believing that homosexuality is immoral. These are just a few of the things I ticked off of the top of my head. There are many others as well.

Where does that leave me? Well I am going to work my ass off to recruit volunteers and GOTV for all the downticket and local races. Tomorrow the GOP Lt. Gov nominee Tom McClintock is going to be over at our Irvine GOP headquarters and I intend to go there and work for real Republicans to get elected. I'm heartened to also see that other OC bloggers are questioning their loyalties to the Governor. None other than Mr. Jubal himself Matt Cunningham is on the fence about supporting the Gov. It takes a lot of gonads to call out the nominee of our party for Governor, but that is what leadership is all about. I'm sure Matt is going to catch a lot of flak for this and could risk getting cut off from future consulting business by taking this stand. Kudos to you Matt.

Allan Mansoor For Costa Mesa Mayor

I received an email today from Allan Mansoor. In it he lays out the guidelines for hiring committee members in the city of Costa Mesa.

No committee member is appointed by a single individual council member as we do not make direct committee appointments.

The appointment of any committee member requires a vote by the council.

The city council has never turned away any applicant.

The city council has never had a policy of investigating committee applicants or asking personal questions.

The person in question has since left the committee and I am glad he is no longer on the committee. I do not support him being on a future committee and find myself in disagreement with much of what he says

I consider Mayor Mansoor a great leader for Costa Mesa and whole heartedly endorse him for re-election. He is a shining beacon of hope for enforcing the laws on illegal immigration in a sea of La Raza/Mecha political correctness. I predict he will be re-elected overwhelmingly.
