The 96 Hour Get Out The Vote Has Started

My wife and I are precinct captains in my neighborhood here in Irvine. We will be hitting the pavement starting tomorrow to do an initial canvass of the Republican voters that have not voted 100% in the last four elections. I encourage everyone who can to call your local GOP headquarters and volunteer for next few days to help get out our vote. This is one of the most rewarding things to do because you get to meet all your neighbors who have the same philosophy as you. In my past experiences, people are very excited when they get a knock on the door from the volunteers.

David Dreier & Political Human Sacrifice

I have been getting alot of new readers to my blog lately and people have been asking me from out of town what this is all about. It all stems from the fact that California has and is being overrun by illegal immigrants from south of the border. The democrats are out in the open about the fact that they would like to give the illegals amnesty while most Republicans say they are against illegal immigration, but in the end most of them support amnesty and a whole host of other related issues on illegal immigration. So Enter John Kobylt and Ken Chiampou of KFI radio station based in Los Angeles. It all came to boil when the Border Patrol rounded up some illegals in an "interior sweep" in Temecula. This sweep caused congressman Joe Baca to march into Asa Hutchinson's office to demand that the sweeps be halted. Asa caved in to Rep. Baca and the rest they say is history. John & Ken went on a rampage on their show the next day and that is how political human sacrifice was born. They decided that since most politicians weren't listening to the will of the people that they would make an example out of a Republican congressman to make the point that if they can defeat a congressman from "safe" district(such as Dreier's 26th district), that this will send a huge message to all the other congressman. The effort so far has been a smashing success. It will be even more successful when the two targeted congressmen are defeated next week.

Dreier's NRCC Complaint Against John & Ken

Attention Southern California Conservative/Republican Bloggers

I am having trouble finding and reading about illegal immigration here in Southern California from bloggers. David Dreier and Joe Baca are in serious jeopardy right now of losing their seats because they are so weak on illegal immigration and I can't find anyone else writing about this. I thought blogs were supposed to be ahead of the curve on this sort of news, but because Dreier & Baca are Republican(save for Baca), it's like everyone is afraid to post something negative about the congressmen. I wish they had US citizens intrests at heart more than illegals, but they don't and they support amnesty and a whole host of other related issues that are one could classify as being Mexican socialism. There are going to be alot of gasps from national and local Republicans next Tuesday night when the returns start trickling in and Cynthia Matthews is the next congressperson from the 26th district and Ed Laning beats Joe Baca out in Fontucky errr Fontana.

Dreier has Filed A Complaint w/the FEC

**********************BREAKING NEWS********************

Rep. David Dreier and the NRCC have filed a complaint with the toothless Federal Election Commision against John & Ken of KFI radio AM 640 in Los Angeles.

David Dreier Files Complaint Against John & Ken of KFI Radio

This story hurts as a loyal Republican that I am, but I am an American first before being a Republican and it's quite clear from listening to John & Ken today that Congressman Dreier has filed some sort of lawsuit or FCC complaint against John Kobylt and Ken Chiampou of Los Angeles Clear Channel KFI AM 640 talk radio, a 50,000 watt station. After spending over a million dollars trying to bolster his failing campaign, Dreier has resorted to filing a lawsuit to shut John & Ken up from talking about Dreier's record(or lack thereof) on illegal immigration. It's clear from Dreier's record that he supports illegal immigration(here is the link). Another sad thing about this entire episode is that Arnold, who claims to be against illegal immigration, will not even come on John & Ken's show anymore to talk about this issue because he is staying loyal to Dreier who helped lead the recall campaign against Gray Davis. Arnold did a recorded call for Dreier that went out to I'm guessing, all the registered voters in Dreier's district. What does all of this mean? It means that the issue of illegal immigration will not go away and politicians who are pro amnesty/illegal immigration will have to face the "angry mob" at election time to explain their votes and they will be held accountable.

Tom Daschle's Swan Song

It's been a long time coming, but Tom Daschle's goose is all but cooked now. He is cratering over at Tradesports. His re-elect contract is down to an anemic 46%. Having said this, we still have to play the game on November 2nd like they say in sports. We need all you great South Dakotans to have a tremendous get out the vote next Tuesday. With Daschle out of the way, I'll be anxious to see how much more of our agenda we can get passed the Senate now.

Coffee Is For Closers Only

If anyone is in sales and hasn't seen the movie "Glengary Glenross", well lets just say that John Kerry does not get to drink any coffee. I've related this line from the movie because liberal conventional wisdom says that John Kerry is a strong closer. They say that because Sen Kerry was able to close out his squishy Republican Senate opponents( i.e William Weld), that it will translate over to being able to close the deal with the nation's voters. Well I got news for the Senator, he might have been able to close some RINO Massachusetts GOPers, but closing the deal on the Presidency is completely different and I'm telling people here and now that John F Kerry has not closed any deals with the center right national electorate. The majority of Americans are conservative and middle of the road. They have not bought in to John Kerry's pitch of a so called fresh start. Fresh start to what, rampant liberalism. John Kerry has to get back to sales 101. To market a product, you have to have willing customers. In my humble opinion right now, there is not a majority or plurality of people that have bought into Kerry's pitch.

Powder Blue Endorsements

Drum roll please.....A lot of newspapers and blogs have started their 2004 general election endorsements so the Powder Blue Report is going to weigh in on who I think deserves mine and my readers support. First lets start at the top of the ticket. For President, the Powder Blue Report gives the nod to the incumbent George W Bush. There are things I really like about the President and there are some things that really bother me about George Bush. On balance Mr Bush deserves re-election because we need a strong leader right now to fight the war on terror. Everything else comes second to the defense of this great nation. I wish to God that Bush would do more on illegal immigration which in my opinion is the second greatest danger right now to the country.

For US Senate, Bill Jones will get our support even though he is running an invisible campaign. The incumbent, Barbara Boxer , has not done California or the nation any favors for the last twelve years that she has been in DC. She is way out of the mainstream in California. She needs to be defeated, but it looks like she is cruising to another term right now.

For House of Reps, Chris Cox should be sent back to Washington to continue the fine work he has done representing my district here in Orange County.
I will post later in the week for all the local and state races here in California.

Attention All Democrats

Due to the overwhelmingly high turnout projections, the county registrars have asked all Republicans to vote on November 2nd and all the Democrats to vote on November 3rd ;^) Remember, that's all GOPers on Nov 2nd and all Democrats on November 3rd. Thanks for everyone's help in this matter. This has been a public service announcement.

Aloha Mr President

This one is a shocker. And I thought the Japs bombing Pearl Harbor was Hawaii's greatest stealth attack. President Bush is moving his strike force of Hawaii voters within shouting distance of winning the state's electoral votes. A new poll by Hawaii's biggest newspaper has Bush ahead by a point right now. Maybe the campaign will send Cheney or even Bush himself over to the island for a little sneak attack in the middle of the closing days of the campaign. This makes some sense if you think about it. Hawaii has a huge military population and is our most important military base in the Pacific. This is truly great news.

Let's Clear This Up Right Now

I'm sick and tired about hearing how John Kerry is a hunter and will stand up for hunter's rights and the second amendment. The 2nd amendment has absolutely nothing to do with "hunter's rights". It has everything to do with citizens being able to keep guns on their person for the explicit reason of overthrowing a tyrannical goverment and to be able to defend yourself. John Kerry has never supported the 2nd amendment in the Senate and I see no reason why he will start now. Luckily, most people see through this transparent effort to appeal to gun owners. Holding a shotgun and going goose hunting doesn't mean you support the 2nd amendment. All that little exercise in Ohio yesterday was, was a photo op. He looked like a fish out of water in that camo jacket and hat. Long live the NRA and Gun Owners of America.

The Hunt For A Red October(& November 2nd !)

We have arrived at the end game for this election and I must say that Bush's numbers are looking very good. He has rallied back to the 61% area in the futures markets. The aggregate of all polls is showing him ahead by about 2%. The factor though that is going to decide this election is GOTV & turnout. I happen to believe that we are going to out hustle the Democrats when it comes to GOTV. I can't wait for this election to be over so I can get back to spending less time crunching numbers and rationalizing to myself why Bush and the Republicans are going to win on November 2nd.

Has Anyone Seen Bill Jones ???

*******All Points Bulletin************

Calling all Californians, we're looking for former California Secretary of State and current Republican US Senate nominee from California Bill Jones. He hasn't been seen lately. Please apprehend him and tell him he is running a super crappy campaign. Seriously though, I haven't seen one Bill Jones for Senate bumper sticker or yardsign or TV ad. Is this guy still running? I did receive a mailer the other day, but there is no buzz at all for Bill Jones right now. He should be pounding the hell out of Barbara Boxer right now on illegal immigration. He is not on TV at all in Orange county. If i'm not seeing signs of a campaign in the OC from a Republican US Senate nominee, you can pretty much rest assured that he is going to get his collective ass kicked on November 2nd. There I said it. I'm not going to sugarcoat it anymore. Please get off your butt Bill and act like your a candidate.

Three Cheers For The Redondo Beach Police

I love reading about stories like this. The Redondo Beach Police are about to be bombarded by the illegal immigration PC police. They held a "roundup" of day laborers in the city because of lots of complaints from local business owners of excessive trash, drunkenness, pulic urination, and more. I say, good for Redondo Beach. If the Border Patrol will not do their job because politicians like Joe Baca and Loretta Sanchez get upset then kudos for other law enforcement entities that will pick up the slack. The deterent effect of raids like these are huge. The word spreads fast in the migrant community of where to avoid loitering. I hope any of the ones the police rounded that were here illegally, get deported immediately, do not pass go and do not collect $200.

Who Is George Esseff ?????

I heard Rush talking about Mr Esseff's full page ad in today's Washington Post. I liked it so much that I am going to post the entire article here on Powder Blue Report. Without further ado, here it is:

In today’s America, ask a growing number of high school and college students; their teachers and professors; the self-anointed media elite and/or hard working men and women of all ethnicities, the question, “What is a Republican?”, and you’ll be told “… a rich, greedy, egotistical individual, motivated only by money and the desire to accumulate more and more of it, at the expense of the environment … the working poor ….and all whom they exploit…”

I am a Republican … I am none of those things… and I don’t know any Republicans who are.

WHAT I AM … first and foremost, is a loving husband of some 52 plus years, the father of four and an American who’s proud of his country… and his country’s heritage.

WHAT I AM … is the grandson of immigrants who risked everything, including their lives and those of their children, to escape tyranny in search of freedom.

WHAT I AM … is a man who grew up during the Depression and witnessed, first hand, the effects of the Stock Market crash and the soup lines that followed. I watched as both my parents and grand parents, who had very little themselves, share what food they had with a half dozen other families, who had even less.

WHAT I AM … is someone who worked his way through college by holding down three and four jobs at a time and then used that education to build a better life.

WHAT I AM … is a husband who, at age 24, started his own business for the “privilege” of working 60, 70 and 80 hours a week, risking everything I had, including my health, in search of a better life for myself and my loved ones.

WHAT I AM … is a businessman whose blood, sweat and tears…. and plenty of them…, made it possible for me to provide a secure living, not only for my family and myself, but also for literally hundreds of my employees throughout the years. Employees, who in turn, were able to buy their own homes, raise their own families and give back to their communities and their country.

WHAT I AM … is a man who believes in God; a God who has blessed this country… and all for which it stands.

WHAT I AM … is someone who knows, if you doubt miracles exist in today’s world, you need only to look into the face of those who received them … and the eyes of those who give them.

WHAT I AM … is an American who’s proud that his President embraces a belief in God; proud of a President who understands, as “politically incorrect” as it may be, there is evil in this world and for the security and safety of all freedom loving people everywhere, it must be confronted… and it must be defeated.

WHAT I AM … is an American who takes comfort in the knowledge that our President refuses to allow decisions concerning the very safety and security of this nation, to be governed by the political whims of foreign governments.

WHAT I AM … is tired of hearing from leading Democrats who see only negativity in America; racism in her people; class warfare in her society and “political incorrectness” in her character.

WHAT I AM … is a former democrat who now understands that it is the soldier and not the reporter that guarantees us our freedoms of press, speech and dissent.

WHAT I AM … is a man who believes in the sanctity of life. A man who is repulsed by the pandering of the political left for votes, at the expense of the unborn.

WHAT I AM … is a husband and father who believes in the sanctity of marriage and the preservation of the family unit.

WHAT I AM … is a movie go-er who is repulsed by those insecure, socially inept, elementary thinking, ego-inflated “entertainers” who have appointed themselves “experts” in the fields of national security and geo-politics and then use their forum to attack this nation, its leaders and its actions…. much to the delight and encouragement of our enemies.

WHAT I AM … is an American who understands the difference between “censorship” and “choice”. Evidently, these individuals do not, because when these same “celebrities” receive public ridicule for their offensive actions, the first thing they yell is “Censorship!”. What they seem incapable of understanding is… the right of free speech and dissent is shared equally by those offended… as well as those who offend. I support and will continue to support those films and performers whom I choose to … and refuse to support those I don’t. It is my right as an American … a right I will continue to enthusiastically exercise.

WHAT I AM … is a voter, tired of politicians, who, every time their voting records are subjected to public scrutiny, try to divert attention from their political and legislative failures by accusing their opponents of “attack ads” and “negative campaigning”…. and the news media who allow them to get away with it.

WHAT I AM … is a Catholic who loves his God and his Faith… and who’s been taught to respect all religions whose teachings are based in love, peace and charity. As such, I am embarrassed and ashamed of those individuals, in both private and public life, whose decisions and actions are devoid of any sense of character or morals; individuals who are only driven by what’s best for them … rather than what’s right … often times at the expense of many …. including our national security.

WHAT I AM … is a realist who understands that the terrorist attack that murdered hundreds of innocent Russian children could have occurred here, in our heartland. That’s why I sincerely believe America needs now, more than ever, a President who sees with a clear and focused vision and who speaks with a voice when heard by both friend and foe alike, is understood, respected and believed.

WHAT I AM … is eternally grateful to Ronald Reagan for having the bravery to speak out against Communism and the courage of his convictions in leading the fight to defeat it; and George W. Bush for the vision, courage, conviction and leadership he has shown in America’s war on terrorism amidst both the constant and vicious, personal and political attacks both he and his family are made to endure.

WHAT I AM … is a human being, full of numerous faults and failures, but a man nonetheless, who, though not always successful, has continually strived to do “what’s right” instead of “what’s easy”. A man who is challenging the religious leaders of all faiths, to not only preach to their congregations the fundamentals of “what’s right” and “what’s wrong”, but to also then hold them accountable for their actions in both the public and private sectors.

WHAT I AM … is disgusted with the Courts who, on one hand, call the murder of a pregnant woman a “double homicide” but then refer to the abortion of her baby as, “pro-choice”.

WHAT I AM … is someone deeply troubled by a political party which embraces a candidate whose primary “leadership” qualities center around his protesting of the Vietnam war and his labeling the honorable men and women who fought in it, (50,000 of whom gave their lives in that action), as rapists, and war criminals. That same political party then stepped forward this year to block the appearance of a true Vietnam war hero, retired Admiral and former United States Senator, Jeremiah Denton, (a man who spent seven years and seven torturous months in a North Vietnam prison), from speaking before an open session of the California legislature as part of that state’s 4th of July celebration. The reason Democrats gave for refusing to allow this American hero to speak before their state legislature was because of the “conservative” nature of his views. As an American, that troubles me deeply ….as well it should you.

WHAT I AM … is a man who feels the need to spend, $104, 655.60,(tax paid) of his own money, to purchase this advertisement, in order to set the story straight. Some may say this money would have been better spent feeding the world’s poor. At the risk of sounding self-serving, as an American and as a Republican, for the last six decades of my life, I have done exactly that… and more. Following the examples of my parents and grand parents, I have used my earnings to feed the poor, shelter the homeless, provide housing for the elderly and medical care for the sick….. and continue to do so… and I’m not alone in that work.

WHAT I AM … is someone who is paying for this announcement, at my sole expense, in hopes of opening the eyes of those led blindly by ill-informed elements of our great nation, who, through either ignorance, or malicious intent, repeatedly attack and belittle those of us who belong to a political party that holds true to the belief, “… the rights of the governed, exceed the power of the government”. For those interested, I am speaking only as a tax-paying individual who is in no way associated with The Republican National Committee, nor with any of its directors, or delegates.

WHAT I AM … is a man who understands, “the American way of life” is a message of self-empowerment for all.

WHAT I AM … is an American who is grateful that our nation gives each of us the opportunity of self-determination and the right to benefit from the fruits of self achievement.

WHAT I AM … is an American who wants to preserve that way of life for all who seek it.

WHAT I AM … is blessed to be an American…. and proud to be Republican.

Theresa Runs Her Mouth Off Again

John Kerry had better have a nice long "pillow talk" with his wife tonight because she is shooting his campaign in the foot at almost every turn. Incredibly, she said that Laura Bush had never worked at a real job in her life today. I guess according to billionaires who never worked themselves, they don't consider being a teacher, librarian, and raising kids to be a "real job". After Kerry's campaign realized the magnitude of Theresa's arrogance, they promptly issued an apology to Mrs Bush, but the damage was already done. "You can't put toothpaste back in the tube" to coin a cliche'.

WAHOOOOO

Tom Daschle has just slipped to 49% on his re-elect contract over at Intrade. This is huge. This means that more now think he is going to lose the race to John Thune. I've been waiting for this moment for a long time. I'm predicting that Thune will cruise to a three or four point victory on November 2nd. The other Senate races are looking good too. Right now the GOP would pick up three seats if the numbers at Intrade hold up. If everything falls into place and Bush has coattails, we could pick up as many as six seats.

John Kerry Is Excommunicated From The Catholic Church

The vatican has taken the extraordinary step today of excommunicating a one John Kerry of Massachusetts. I don't know what kind of effect this action will have on swing voters who are Catholic. The article goes on to say that Uncle Ted Kennedy and few other politicians will be getting booted from the church as well. My question is why has it taken so long to do this?

I Love It When I'm Right

Everyone take a peek at where the Bush contract is at Tradesports right now. It is at 57%. That's a nice tidy 5% move if you took advantage of my reco last night. Bush appears to be winning right now by about 3-4 points in the horserace. As Bush's chief strategist, Karl Rove has said, he would like for Bush to be up by four points going into election day. We all know the Democrats are prepared to cheat and win at all costs this election. My gut is telling me that we are in for another long night on November 2nd a la 2000. Karl Rove if your listening, now would be as good a time as ever to bring Osama out of hiding errrrr I mean capture him :)

Buy The Bush Re-Elect Contract At Tradesports

This reco is to go long the Bush re-elect contract at Tradesports. The Iowa Electronic Market is trading around 60% right now and Tradesports closed today's session at 51.8%. This is a great arbitrage opportunity. Someone is obviously trying to manipulate the Tradesports market right now(George Soros maybe?). Anyway, the Tradesports Bush contract looks to me to be undervalued at this moment and I would go long here at 52%.

Must See Movie Of The Year

"Team America" is the funniest movie to come out in a long time. Never has my $9 been so well spent. This movie will have you rolling in the aisles if your not politically correct. The way it lampoons Hollywood and all the liberal self important actors is worth the price of admission alone. The soundtrack is also hilarious, F**K YEAH! I highly recommend this movie.

Welcome To The Party Rush

Rush Limbaugh just talked about the Iowa Electronic Markets on his show for the first time ever. This just shows how the blogs have even been ahead of talk radio in finding trends and new ways to handicap races.

Debate Thoughts

The debates are now history. The talking heads are spinning like crazy. The people of this country will be the final arbiters of who they thought won the debates. I think Bush had a good night last night, but the futures for Bush have been selling off a little since the close of the debate last night. Bush is still around the 55% level, but if he drops any further, we truly will have a toss-up race. Right now there is a slight electoral college edge for Bush according to the individual state future markets. Bush is above 50% in every state he won last time except for New Hampshire and he is also ahead in two Gore states from 2000. Those states are Iowa and Wisconsin. The next 19 days are going to be a long hard slog. Anything can still happen also as far terrorists or Bin Laden. Hopefully nothing will happen.

Christopher Reeve is Dead

Drudge is reporting that Christopher Reeves has passed away and the family will announce the news tomorrow. This is sad news. I will always remember Christopher Reeves from his role as Superman and for his strong advocation of stem cell research. may he rest in peace.

Congratulations to Arizona

It is looking like Arizona is poised to pass proposition 200, their version of California's 1994 prop 187. It is getting two thirds of the vote right now in the polls. I hate to burst their bubble before it even rises though, but be prepared Arizona to fight this out in court because the same day it passes, there will be lawsuits lined up to challenge it. Also I believe Arizona is part of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, another strike against the proposition surviving a court challenge. It is clear though that the support that propositions like this are receiving is bipartisan, wide, and deep. This is what happens when the politicians don't do their job.

Rumor Has It.....

That there is a Presidential debate tonight :) The race has definately tightened since the heady times of the post GOP convention days. The futures markets still have Bush favored to win by about 60 to 40, but Bush has been trending down. He needs to step up tonight and have a great debate with Kerry. I will be watching it.

Cheney Killed Edwards Last Night

And those aren't my words, those were the words of the all but one of the MSNBC commentators. The one of course being Ron Reagan Jr. So the good news was that Cheney beat up little Johnny boy, but as we all know, people vote for the top of the ticket. So lets savor this victory, but the real show is Bush vs Kerry. The futures have rallied a few points from a low of about 58% last week after Bush's first debate with Kerry. They're trading around 61% last time I checked. I think the town hall format will be a good debate for the two of the candidates Friday in St Louis.

I'm Still Laughing My Ass Off.....

at the comment that John Edwards just made with regard to tort reform. Gwenn Ifiel asked him what he would do about lawsuit abuse and Edwards said and I'm paraphasing "lawyers should be allowed to police themselves and set up some sort of board(made up of more lawyers of course) to decide which cases have merit and which ones do not". This has got to be the line of the debate and the year.

Rodney Dangerfield Is Dead

Well Rodney, you definitely got a lot of respect throughout your career. He was in one of the best comedies of all time in Caddyshack. Other movies that he was in: Back To School, Easy Money, Ladybugs, et al. Hollywood will miss him and so will I.

Socals Not Off To A Good Start

The Dodgers got pounded today in their opener and the Angels are getting a beating also. It's only the first game, but hopefully this is a wakeup call. They'll need to play better the rest of the series.

Dodgers & Angels Get A Chance To Avenge Old Demons

Today is the day the Dodgers and Angels both get a chance to avenge their respective demons against the Cardinals and Red Sox. The Dodgers and Cardinals played for the 1985 NLCS and just to refresh old memories(or open a scab if you will). The Dodgers were winning at home ready to wrap up a trip to the World Series and they brought in Tom need-a-homer errrr Neidenfeur to pitch the ninth. I remember this game like it was yesterday. Jack Clark was up to bat with the tying runs on and he hit a ball that is probably still traveling at this moment, ripping the hearts out of all Dodger fans. The Angels had a similar situation a year later in 1986. The were one strike away from a trip to "The Show" when Donnie Moore threw nice fat fastball over the plate that Dave Henderson belted over the wall in left center field. later on in life, Donnie Moore committed suicide, with his wife saying that he could never live this incident down.

Roger Niello For CA 5th Assembly District

Any good friend of my Uncle Mark Nelson is a friend of mine. I had the opportunity of getting introduced to Roger Niello and his wife Mary by my uncle over the weekend at my cousin's wedding in Calistoga. Roger is running for the Assembly seat being vacated by former minority leader in the assembly, Dave Cox. He is going to be a great assemblyman representing the Sacramento area. We need to give Arnold all the help he can get up in the Capital to fight off all the hippies that dominate the legislature right now. Right now it looks like the CA GOP is prepared to pick up seats in the coming election. It would be nice to get a majority again, but that doesn't seem within reach this year. Here is a link to Roger's campaign website

Judge Kline Case Back On Track

Many of you who read this blog and listen to John & Ken will remember the Judge Kline case from way back in 2001. He was a Superior Court judge who was found to have downloaded child porn on his home computer. What's scary about this guy is that he lives in my neighborhood in Irvine about a mile away from me. John & Ken did a remote broadcast from his block with their trademark bullhorns. It caused quite a stir. The boys were instramental in getting Kline defeated for re-election. He was subsequentely brought up on charges for child porn and a district judge in Los Angeles suppressed the evidence because of fourth amendment concerns that the evidence was gathered illegally. Well the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal reversed the district judge's ruling and the case seems to be back on track. Here is a link to the ruling
Here is the article from today's OC Register about the story(registration was required)

By JOHN McDONALD
The Orange County Register

Former Orange County Superior Court Judge Ronald Kline must return to federal court to stand trial on child-pornography charges, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled today.

The decision reverses U.S. District Judge Consuelo Marshall's ruling in June 2003 that Brad Willman, 23, of Langley, British Columbia, was acting as a law enforcement agent when he hacked into Kline's home computer and found some of the evidence used to bring charges against the then-sitting judge.

Kline, 63, is scheduled for trial in January.

Marshall had ruled that the seizure of about 1,500 pictures of nude boys was unconstitutional because of the actions of Willman, and she suppressed the evidence. Her ruling that Willman was a police agent resulted in a hiatus in the prosecution of the ex-jurist on seven child-pornography charges.

"A private person cannot act unilaterally as an agent or instrument of the state; there must be some degree of governmental knowledge and acquiescence. In the absence of such official involvement, a search is not governmental," the three-judge appellate panel said.

Kline was charged in November 2001 and was subsequently defeated for re-election by a write-in candidate. He was later charged in state court with molesting a 14-year-old boy in 1979. That case was dismissed when the U.S. Supreme Court threw out a California law permitting the prosecution of old sex-crime cases.

The former judge has remained on home confinement since the child pornography charges were filed

This Is An Amazing Story

Black civil rights leaders think electronic voting machines were designed to suppress the "black vote" because blacks are "not tehnologically savvy people". So in other words they think their race is too stupid to figure out an electronic voting machine. I guess I am no longer surprised at statements like these from these types of so called leaders. I think it's just one more excuse to use if there is a close election. All they'll have to do is claim voter disenfranchisement or some other bogus charge to create a stir after November 2nd. This all the more reason like I and Hugh Hewitt keep saying to make sure that the election is not close. This way, by routing the Democrats, they won't be able to credibly claim voter fraud like the last go around in 2000.

Don't Have An Emergency In L.A County...

because there's a good chance that the ER you thought was there might be shut down. The latest to close their doors is in Northridge and also King/Drew ER in Watts. These are the fourth and fifth ERs to close this year. At this rate LA county is not going to have any ERs left next year. There are alot of reasons these hospitals are closing, but chief among them is treating "poor" and "uninsured patients"(a big chunk of those being illegal aliens). Until we truly get a handle on illegal immigration, I'm afraid we are going to see alot more of these stories in the future. Instead of going to the root of the problem, illegal immigration in my opinion, the lefty Los Angeles politicians will probably just call for more funding and outright socialized medicine a la Canadian style medicine. They will never talk about the illegal problem they have encouraged over the years. It's all starting to come to a boiling point though and tough choices like closing down hospitals is becoming all to familiar.

My Weekend Experience In Nocal

This was the first time for me going to the wine country up in Napa since I was about ten years old. I need go back there more often. It is beautiful. My cousin's wedding at Friendship Trail in Calistoga was a great event. The setting was breath taking. Friendship trail overlooks the valley below and is itself near the top of the mountain. Highway 29 up to Calistoga is great scenic drive. You get to pass by some of the most recognizable names in vineyards. Robert Mondavi, Sutter Homes, Gallo, and many others are all just off the road and look very inviting. The city of Calistoga is "a very cute little town" quoting my wife's words. It reminded me alot of the town Julian in the San Diego mountains.

As I got home, I checked on the Bush futures contract and Tradesports has it down to about the 61% area. This is down five points from the pre-debate number. I also checked Real Clear Politics and there were a couple of new polls out showing the race tightening. Bush needs to stop this Kerry momentum right now. You don't want to let this guy back in the race. I'm looking forward to the Veep debate this week. Oh yeah, how bout' those Dodgers and Angels Nocal. We punked you and the Rams are killing the 49ers at halftime 24-0.

I'll Be Back On Sunday

I'm off to the beautiful wine country of Napa Valley for the weekend. My cousin Katie is getting married. I'll be back at the blogging on Sunday night. Go Dodgers and Angels!

Mount St Helens Is Erupting Right Now!

This is pretty cool. I remember just like yesterday when way back on May 18th 1980 I was ten years old and at my first Dodger game. I think they were playing the Pittsburgh Pirates(not sure though). I got home and remember watching on TV the plume of ash going thousands of miles high and most of Eastern Washington, Idaho, Montana covered with ashes. The fact that scientists were able to almost predict the day of this latest eruption just shows how far science has come. It's an Amazing site.

It's the Nocals vs the Socals This Weekend For All the Marbles

While most people were busy watching the Presidential debate last night, there was an epic last weekend battle shaping up between both Northern California and Southern California baseball teams. Those battery chucking, water hoarding Nocals must be crushed. The Dodgers have a definite advantage over the Giants. They only have to win one of the three upcoming games this weekend. The Angels and the A's are a different story. Those two teams are all tied up. It's the best two out of three, a mini playoff if you will. I'm not counting either Nocal team out, but I like the Socal's chances. I think I'll go out and drain my pool and leave the water running now just to piss them off a little more.

Who Knew.....Justice Scalia Says Orgies Relieve Tension!

This has to be one of my favorite stories of the year. Justice Scalia thinks that "orgies relieve tension and should be encouraged". I wanna party with this guy. Who knew that he was so kinky. He said this while speaking to a surprised audience at Harvard the other day. I can't tell from the context of the article if he was joking about it, but I get the sense that maybe he was serious. That's too funny. The next thing I know, he is going to say that he and his wife are swingers!
